Lily and Nick were chem tested before on The Young and the Restless. It became apparent to the audience, some of whom haven’t forgotten about it ever since. Recently, Nick seemingly reconciled with Sharon, while Lily is mourning the loss of Damian and trying to remain civil with her ex-husband, Nick. However, fans wondered whether “Lick” would make a steamy or chilly couple.
The Couple That Never Was
Over on Reddit, the original poster argued that Lily (Christel Khalil) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) would make for an “excellent” pairing. It could make for a complex and juicy storyline since Victor (Eric Braeden) would either love them or hate them. As we know, he always has a say in who his kids (and grandkids) date.
This could also create conflict with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford, who revealed her favorite Y&R scenes) since Lily was married to her son, Daniel (Michael Graziadei). Of course, she would have a say about Lily dating her ex. Devon (Bryton James) wouldn’t be happy to learn that Nick was dating his sister.
No Lick
Y&R fans were mixed on this pairing. Some argued that Nick is better paired up with either Phyllis or Sharon (Sharon Case). One person wrote, “Boring. She’s boring with everyone. I like him best with Phyllis. He seems like his actual self with her. Sharon, he’s just busy saving her all the time from herself.”
Someone else wrote, “I think it’s a TERRIBLE storyline. Why do people want to keep putting Lily with men who love someone else? Stop.” Lily has been cheated on more times than we can count. She needs a man who’s completely devoted to her. Meanwhile, Nick is torn between two women for the rest of his life, whether he likes to admit it or not.
Chem Test
Some fans recall Nick and Lily flirting with each other years ago. Despite their apparent chemistry, the soap didn’t go anywhere with them. But a random coupling can’t come out of nowhere. A solid storyline is needed to bring interest to the pairing.
I could see something scandalous or tragic bringing them together. That’s usually how it goes,” one person wrote. “Ooh, yes, I remember when they had a scene with Lily and Nick at a bar back in like 2017, and it felt like she was flirting with him… But then it went nowhere, and I was so disappointed,” another person commented.
But most fans can’t help but remember when Lily grew up with his daughter, Cassie (Camryn Grimes), and was friends with her. This alone gives most fans the ick. Even with the apparent age difference, some fans want them together. Someone summed it up, “They chem-tested Nick and Lily over a decade ago — and there were sparks. The show did nothing with them, which was a mistake.”
